Why Provably Fair Gaming Matters

Traditional online casinos ask you to trust them. Provably fair casinos let you verify every single outcome with math.

The Problem with Traditional Online Casinos

Traditional online casinos use Random Number Generators (RNG) that operate as a black box. You place your bet, the casino tells you the result, and you have no way to verify whether the outcome was genuinely random or manipulated in the house's favor.

Even "audited" casinos only prove that their RNG was fair on average over millions of spins. They cannot prove that your specific game was fair. The audit happened months ago on a sample — not on your session, right now.

  • No way to verify individual game outcomes
  • RNG source code is proprietary and hidden
  • Audits are periodic, not real-time
  • You must trust the casino completely

How Provably Fair Works

1

Commit

Before you bet, the casino generates the game result and publishes a cryptographic hash (commitment) of that result. This locks the outcome — it cannot be changed after your bet.

2

Play

You place your bet. Your client seed is combined with the server seed using HMAC-SHA256 to produce the final result. Neither side can influence the outcome alone.

3

Verify

After the round, the server seed is revealed. You can hash it yourself and confirm it matches the original commitment. If it matches, the game was fair — mathematically proven.

How AlgoRoll Implements It

AlgoRoll goes beyond basic provably fair by anchoring commitments to the Algorand blockchain. This means the commitment isn't just stored on our server — it's recorded on a public, immutable ledger that no one can alter.

HMAC-SHA256 Cryptography

Industry-standard hashing ensures outcomes are deterministic and unalterable.

On-Chain Commitments

Result hashes are committed to Algorand before bets, visible on the public blockchain.

Open Verification Tools

We provide JavaScript, Python, and CLI code so you can verify results independently.

Every Game, Every Spin

Not just some games — all 5 games on AlgoRoll are provably fair, every single round.

Verify It Yourself

Don't take our word for it. Check any game result on our verification page.
